curriculum/unit?unitid=37. In this unit, students analyze the roles organisms play in ecosystems within a new context—biomes. A biome, such as a tundra, desert, or prairie, is a group of similar ecosystems. Students discover that climate and latitude determine the location and character of different biomes, as well as the plants and animals living within them. Students explore the effects of human activities on various ecological roles and on the transfer of matter.
The EEI Curriculum consists of 40 science and 45 history-social science instructional units that were approved by the State Board of Education in 2010. Visit the EEI Home page http://californiaeei.org/ to learn more about the EEI Curriculum.
